A single table of 246 wiki, encyclopedia, and knowledge industry players across the United States, Europe, Japan, China (Sinosphere), South Korea, and other regions. Filter and sort by usage (monthly pageviews, monthly visits, MAU), revenue, region, type, era (Print Encyclopedia → AI), contributors, format, and revenue model. Every figure carries a verification tag (✔ Official filing · Foundation report · Official API / △ Press · Estimate · Traffic tool / ✘ Debunked).
Because monetization paths diverge completely depending on what is written (general encyclopedia, fandom, game guide, reference encyclopedia, dictionary, structured data, internal docs, AI-generated), we divide players into 12 types. We also track Era (Print · CD Encyclopedia → 1st-Gen Web Wiki → Community Wiki → Wiki Farm → Enterprise Knowledge SaaS → Decentralized → AI) to filter "legacy ↔ emerging," and AI is filtered via Type ⑩ and Era "AI" rather than as a region. Even among encyclopedias, who writes it (anonymous anyone, registered accounts, experts, internal teams, AI) determines trust, cost, and legal liability, so we expose that axis as a filter as well. Unlike the community map, Region reflects the primary market (language audience) — Japanese Wikipedia = Japan, Namuwiki (Paraguayan entity) = South Korea.
| # | Name | Region | Type | Tier | Key Metric | Format | Revenue | Verif. |
|---|
Click any row to expand ownership, founding year, revenue model, financials, recent trends, and sources. The 69 entries with Tier "?" lack verifiable headline metrics in public filings or reports. Tiers are rough approximations based on a single headline metric. Monthly pageviews come from the official Wikimedia API (human only · 2026-09) ✔; monthly visits are Similarweb / Semrush estimates (△).

A defining trait of the wiki industry: cash revenue share for writers is nearly zero (Wikipedia, Fandom, Namuwiki, Baidu Baike). Revenue sharing exists mainly among independent game wikis (bg3.wiki contributor pool), token models (IQ.wiki), or salaried guide sites (Game8, GameWith).
