317 ETF players across the United States, South Korea, China (incl. Hong Kong), Japan, Europe, and other regions in a single table. Covers the entire value chain: issuers that build ETFs → index providers that supply benchmarks → exchanges and liquidity providers that enable trading → brokers, apps, and robo-advisors that distribute them → data and media platforms that help investors compare. Filter and sort by "Most Used" (AUM, users, trading volume), "Largest Scale" (company revenue or market cap, or AUM if unavailable), region, domain, category, era, legacy/emerging, AI adoption, and revenue model. Every figure carries a verification mark (✔ filing · primary source · official stats / △ press · estimate / ✘ disproved).

ETFs are not a single-company business but a value chain — asset managers build them (iShares · KODEX), index providers supply benchmarks (S&P · MSCI), exchanges and liquidity providers keep them trading (NYSE Arca · Jane Street), brokers, apps, and robo-advisors distribute them (Toss Securities · Robinhood · Trade Republic), and data and media platforms enable comparison (Morningstar · ETF Check, etc.). Accordingly, players are divided into 15 value-chain categories. Because "usage" in the ETF industry means investor money entrusted (AUM), it can be sorted separately from company revenue — #1 in AUM is not automatically #1 in revenue (at a 0.03% fee, managing $1T yields $300M in revenue). Legacy ↔ Emerging is filtered across two layers: Era (Pioneer 1990 → Index Expansion → Low-Cost · Smart Beta → Thematic · Active · Retail → Income · Crypto · Tokenization) and the "Legacy / Emerging" chip. AI is also two-layered — if AI-driven management or service is the core business, it goes in Category ⑭; if a firm only launched AI thematic funds or uses AI internally, filter via "AI Adoption". Crypto is separated — because its regulation, investor base, and fee structure are distinct, it is carved out into Category ⑥ and the "Crypto · Tokenization" domain.

Click any row to expand ownership, launch year, revenue model, financials, recent trends, and sources. The 134 entries rated "?" have no verified headline figure in public filings. Tiers are rough approximations based on a single headline metric. Because AUM and company revenue measure different things, combine with the "Metric Type" filter. AUM fluctuates with market prices.

Total expense ratios of 0.03–1% are split among the asset manager, index provider, custodian, and distributor. The US has virtually no sales commission inside ETF fees (brokers earn via PFOF and cash sweep interest), South Korea embeds a sales fee inside the total fee, and Europe bans sales commissions for independent advice and portfolio management under MiFID II (execution-only brokers may receive conditional third-party payments · EU PFOF banned from 2026-07-01).

For each region, we selected one flagship player that best illustrates how money flows through ETFs without overlapping business models — US = issuer (scale + platform), South Korea = issuer (domestic razor-thin fees + global expansion), China = state capital, Japan = central bank holdings & top issuer, Europe = retail investing app, Other (Taiwan) = national flagship ETF.
